New coasters are now available. These are made from my artwork. I will have them at tomorrow’s open studio. They make great gifts! A unique holding spot for your favorite beverage!

I worked on this this small canvas (6 x 6 inches) and I believe it is mostly done. I was trying to go for a looser look. This will be up in the LAA Gallery in the next few days.

For me, this is how it typically starts when doing a still life. I like to make sure that the background color feels right. This is a classic case of using the complimentary color (red and green). It is also the time when I step back and make sure that I like the positioning/composition of the objects. I will add more details as I go!

I got over to the studio this morning and did some more detail work on this painting. It is not finished, but I am happy with the progress so far. Gum balls are tricky! They have very subtle color changes to help them look more like a sphere shape. I’ll keep working on them!
We saw the “Living Large” exhibit at the Bankhead in Livermore, CA. It was a nice show and it was fun to run into some wonderful (and talented) artists. It’s always fun to hear the jazz offerings of Matt Finders and friends. I can listen to them all day!
The Living Large show runs through March 2nd – if you are in the area, check it out! It inspired me to work bigger!

I am happy with my progress on this painting. I haven’t worked on a larger sized canvas for a while now.
Looking forward to spending some time in the studio this weekend – and it is a 3-day weekend for us! Bonus day!

I will be one of the artists at Art Under the Oaks. This one is hosted by Alden Lane which is a beautiful nursery in Livermore. This is my favorite place to get gardening supplies. I will be there on Saturday only of this 2 day weekend event. check out the details here
I will have lots of original art on canvas, paper and wood as well as prints, coasters and necklaces. There will be food and wine too! Stop by and say hi!
Some examples of paintings that will be at the ArtWalk festival in Livermore – October 13
Prints will be available soon!
These paintings were inspired by a visit this summer to the Buffalo Botanical Garden. We were lucky to be there at the time when “Morty,” the corpse plant, was in bloom. He wasn’t that stinky when we visited.

I will have a booth at Art Walk again this year. Mark your calendars for this fun-filled day of art. I will be near the Bankhead. More info and details to come!
I have not been posting here on my blog much. I have been busy and have been active on instagram. (Feel free to follow me there) I am still trying to figure out which venue is best suited to me. Here’s a few paintings that I have worked on lately:
As I see these all together, the common thread is how much I enjoy the various subjects. From that quirky Centennial Bulb to my nail polish addiction, it brings me joy to work on these paintings.
I will be making some prints from these paintings. Do you have a favorite painting from these? Let me know which one in the comment here or on Facebook.
