work in progress

Working on this dahlia painting. There’s a neighbor who has the most beautiful front graden. Tons of dahlias, sunflowers and even some veggies. It is full of life and it always restores my mood. These flowers have tons of nooks and crannies!

Round canvases are fun!

Mirror Ball

Spent the morning in my art studio. Got to get out my paints and get messy! I have a few ideas on what to do with these round canvas panels. Today, it was mirror ball time. It aint a party, till the mirror ball gets going!

My inner Sunset

The Inner Sunset – San Francisco neighborhood – the place I lived in my early adult years. It was an exciting time – relationships, jobs and having fun. I lived here on an entry level non-profit “salary.” I could walk to Golden Gate Park and the de Young Museum; longer walks to the Ocean (usually a bike ride). It had a neighbood feel. We came together after the big earthquake or celebrating the 49ers wins.

I moved to the other side of the park (outer Richmond) and then to upper Castro, before making the journey to the other side of the Bay.

We love doing day trips into the City – often going to the restaurants we onced took for granted. Love my City by the Bay!

More Suburban Bliss

This house painting is of my childood home in Syosset, NY. I lived there from 1st grade through college. I loved going in to NYC and driving out to Jones Beach or Cold Spring Harbor. We had great pizza and bagels nearby. Lots of fun memories.

Suburban life

I had a lovely morning – I was able to go to our community pool and do laps before work. It was so refreshing to do this. I have a light work schedule and then book club this evening. Skys are clear. If feels like the idealic suburban life!

We will be discussing “The Tea Girl of Hummingbird Lane” – by Lisa See. I really enjoyed this book – it really captures the life of Akah minority in China and how their way of life changed so quickly during the Revolution era. I recommend this book!

new work

Art done in Procreate – I am learning more each day how to use this amazing art software. I have had MANY duds and I know that this is part of the process. I am happy with how this one came out. Source Image by Tess Pixy256 from Pixabay

Hummingbirds bring me such joy. For a little bird, they are surprisingly loud. I love when they stop for a few sips in my hummingbird feeder. It gives me a brief moment of joy. I can only imagine the impact of our poor air quality on their systems.
