I painted my studio and I am so pleased! The walls were a dull brown and without much natural light, it made the space feel confined. What a difference a fresh coat of crispy white paint makes! Now how to figure out how to get some better lighting in there! I have to deal with florescent lights 😦 – if you have any suggestions on how to improve this, I am open! Right now, I have studio lamps. They take up space so I am looking to mount something from above.
If you are in the area – we will have an Open Studio at the Bothwell in Livermore – Sat Feb 29th 11am – 3pm – we are near some amazing wineries so this could be a fun stop before or after some wine tasting!
I know that this is months away, but I am happy to announce that I will be participating in the East Bay Open Studios (EBOS) in June. This year, I decided to show my work at the Firehouse Arts Center in Pleasanton. It is a beautiful, inspiration-filled setting and a perfect downtown Pleasanton location. I know that it will be a wonderful stop on your open studio tour!
I will be opening up my studio space at the Bothwell in June for the East Bay Open Studios. There will be a few other artists demonstrating their artwork process. Come see where the magic happens!

In addition, we will have a donation collection to aid the victims of the recent Ghost Ship fire in Oakland. We are devastated to know about the tragic fire and want to do our part to support the artist community.

I’ll be at the studio this Thursday – June 9th for Artist Work Night. I’m not sure what IÂ will work on next. Of late, I have been drawn to musical themes – instruments and lyrics. I’m sure that I will keep going in this direction.
This is my travel pencil/pen box. It totally sums me up – playfulness is something I highly value. My daughter Emma added her touch to this box when she borrowed it for her own use (hello, orange pencil!). Â I love that it’s in there – a connection to her earlier days. There’s also a clarinet reed holder in there (not sure why). I still absolutely adore the Powerpuff Girls (Buttercup is my girl). It was fun to get reacquainted with this box when I used it at the Figure Drawing Marathon. Hope to bring more playfulness to my work!

The Downtown Art Studios in Livermore will have its work night – open studio. Thursday April 14 6pm – 8pm 62 South L street in downtown Livermore. I will be there working on my latest piece pictured here.
That Bari sax has so many intricacies- I hope to do it justice! This is part of my new series of work focused on instruments that are important in our lives. My daughter plays a mean Bari!
